Before They Were Starhs pt. II: Foots!

Here's a little nugget from my friend Jeannine and I. We did this a few years ago on my 4 track and it was a lot of fun. My mom helped me sew the canvas sleeves for the record [thanks mom], Jeannine named the songs, and I screenprinted stuff. It was a regular cottage industry I tell ya. It used to be for sale in ear-x-tacy, but we only made like 35 copies and I think they're all gone [impressive!]. So here it is, just in time to satisfy your craving for improvised viola/cello/drum stuff.
Download: Foots! [Entire Album]
Tracklist:
1 - The Heart Of Our Existence
2 - Askr and Embla
3 - Get Used To Being Rare
4 - Waiting In The Rafters
5 - Up Against The Atmosphere
p.s.
compare these titles with my suggestions [medieval/simpleton]
1 - Entrance To The Harbor
2 - The Castle At Dawn
3 - Armchair, You Are The First
4 - Screaming Beards
5 - Sketches Of Soldiers
and since the entire album is in one file [no divisions between tracks], you can decide what is called what! interactive! this internet thing really is the future!

Before They Were Starrs pt. I: Venus Trap

I just ran across these old demos/whatever and started reminiscing [always dangerous]. These fine women [+1 man] are now far more well-known and respected and to my delight were just recently featured on the cover of the Leo a few weeks back. They have a new album [The Key - which I would recommend] that contains a far superior version of Jamboree. I just thought I would share a small slice of my time spent with them for those of you who missed it.
p.s.
these studio [read: kitchen] recordings of the songs don't come close to showcasing the perverse beefheart-ian guitar heft that Miranda and Stephanie would boil up live. As far as chopped and screwed harmonic movement in Louisville, no one comes close to these three.
Download: Venus Trap - Hot Spades
Download: Venus Trap - Jamboree of Dead Flowers
Pt. II of this series will continue tomorrow!!!

Breaking News
For the first time in several days I have managed to brush my teeth. Many moons ago my toothbrush leapt from my hand and into the trashcan rendering it unusable. After much searching (both terrestrial and spiritual) I finally managed to acquire one today at walgreens for the low low price of $1.99 USD. I expected more from the experience, but my teeth feel just about the same as they did before, but perhaps with a little more definition.
